PARADOXES

Have you ever heard the term "Paradox" ?
What is Paradox?  What is the most famous paradox?

Let's have a look from its basic definition which states that, A paradox is a statement or preposition that seems self contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth.
So in simple words,  paradox is a statement that truly is contradictory and yet follows logically from other statements that do not seem open to objection. If someone says, “ I am lying” for example, and we assume that his statement is true, it must be false. The paradox is that the statement “i am lying” is false if it is true.

Paradox is also known as antinomy.
The term paradox was originated from the two Greek words i.e, para = distinct and doxa = opinion. One of the most famous paradoxes is Russell's paradox.

So, in the thread of Paradoxes, Team Cosmic threads will try to explain each cosmic paradox briefly. Stay tuned.

  1. The way you have started with explaining the word 'paradox', is the best I have ever seen. It makes easier for a newbie to understand things. I have enjoyed it thoroughly, and I am curiously waiting for upcoming blogs of yours. All the best!
